SO WHAT IF YOU CAN SEE, THE DARKEST SIDE OF ME? NO ONE WILL EVER CHANGE THIS ANIMAL I HAVE BECOME help me believe, it's not the real me; somebody help me tame this animal! • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • -- Greentown, Michigan --
Dean was on his own again. Just him and the Impala. He had taken off without telling Sam or Bobby. He needed to get away and get lost in a hunt. If he had told Sam what he was doing, Sam would want to go and Dean didn’t want that. Yes, he loved his brother to the very depths of hell but he needed to be alone sometimes.
While driving through the country, Dean’s phone rang. He reached into his pocket, flipped it open, and answered it without looking at who called. “Yeah?”
Sam’s voice came on the other end. Dean sighed inwardly knowing what was going to come next. They talked back and forth for a couple minutes. Sam was pissed that Dean had up and left without telling him. Sam wanted to come help him but Dean wouldn’t have it. He’d be fine by himself. Hell, he lasted a year without Sam. Closing the phone, Dean set it down on the seat next to him. Honestly, at the moment, Dean just wanted to be alone. Sam would just have to deal with it. Since the phone call, Dean had entered Michigan and was getting closer to the town with the case. He read that dead people were disappearing from cemeteries. It was either a grave robber or something supernatural. Dean was pretty sure the person was something of the supernatural but he had to make sure it was first. He didn’t want more innocent people dying because of he didn’t do enough research. (Well, right now dead people were dying but you know what he means). He had read in the papers that this was the third time this had happened. The first time was twenty years ago. The time before that was forty. There was something defiantly fishy going on here. He passes a sign that said: Welcome to Greentown, Michigan. He was in the right town for the case. Everything had been happening in this town. The papers had also said the disappearances had been happening in two of the cemeteries. Like the disappearances before, they were the same cemeteries as before. He stopped at the one of the cemeteries where the disappearances were taking place. The key was out of the ignition and Dean stepped out of the Impala. He was clad in a black suit, white button down, and a black tie with purple strips on it. He looked around and shut to car door. There was some police tape up around the site where the graves had been broken into. The grave had a whole dug to where the casket laid. The casket had a giant whole in the top. He tried to see if there was a body inside the casket but it was too dark down there. He walked over to the grave where the police were standing. He stepped up the a cop in a suit. She had long black hair. He pulled out his “badge”. “FBI. I have some questions about the disappearances.” Dean said. He put his badge back in his pocket while waiting for a response from the cop. "It's okay sweetie. Mommy has to go to work, okay? Have fun at the zoo with Grandma. I need to go. Bye sweetie, I love you." Renee murmured into the phone before snapping it shut as she pulled into a crime scene. She honestly hated being pulled out of states for cases just because of her seven year old son. She knew in between work and hunting, which at least in this instance she was killing two birds with one stone, that she really didn't spend enough time with him. That was part of what motivated her to just be quick and efficient about it. That and saving innocent people. Both were pretty good reasons to keep herself going.
Though, in all honesty, Renee wasn't sure how she had been the lucky one to get pulled so far from home. Texas was practically on the opposite end of the country north and south wise, but at least it wasn't so damn hot. That was at least the only good part about it, she decided, as she introduced herself to the lead detectives with a flash of her credentials and explaining what had gotten her jurisdiction out this far. It had been just a similar ghoul in their area, but it wasn't like the bureau actually knew about that aspect of it. Or that she had gotten rid of it, for that matter. There were quite a few cold cases that's trail had ended because of her hunting creatures. No one really needed to know about that few little details.
Renee crouched down, peering at the crime scene with a sigh. Standing up and turning around, she wasn't expecting another agent standing there, though that was exactly what she got. "Sorry, I just arrived her and got briefed on the case. I wasn't aware that they were sending out any more of us." She commented, pulling out her own badge. "We just had a similar case. I'm Special Agent Renee Young, Dallas Field Office." She introduced herself, placing her badge back into the pocket on the inside of her blazer and placing out her hand for him to shake. It was strange that they would have sent out more agents, even if there were more similar cases out there. Perhaps he was another hunter? The chances were slim, though she hadn't taken a very close look at the badge. Strange.

The officer whom had been kneeling was now standing before Dean. “Sorry, I just arrived her and got briefed on the case. I wasn't aware that they were sending out any more of us."
Dean watched as the women pulled out her own badge and flashed it. "We just had a similar case. I'm Special Agent Renee Young, Dallas Field Office." Why would they send someone out all the way from Dallas? That was odd and Dean didn’t even really work for the FBI and he knew it was odd. Unless she really wasn’t FBI. Dean searched for another cop or someone who could help him with the information he seeked. “I’m Special Agent Ted Olsen. Can you tell me about the other case you were working on?” Dean watched Renee. She was looking at him curiously. Probably wondering why they had sent another agent to a simple case like this. Funny thing, Dean doesn’t work for the FBI. He doesn’t really work for anyone besides himself and Sam. The only income where Dean works is gambling. Besides that it’s poker. He wasn’t going to trust Sam with the poker money, he’d lose it all in the first round. (Sam wasn’t the best at poker). Dean looked back at the grave. “Did your case have disappearances happening every twenty years? Dean quickly calculated when the first disappearance would have been. Forty years ago was 1971. So twenty years ago would have been 1991. “Did the disappearances start in 1971 then stop and start back up again in 1991?” Dean wasn’t the greatest at the whole questioning thing. Sam was the one who was good at that but Sam wasn’t here. He had to deal without him for the time being. Moving the hair out of her face other than her short bangs, Renee couldn't help but study him slightly out of habit. He had more the stature of a hunter than a federal agent for the most part. Agents tended to be taller, more lean than buff usually. He was on the shorter side of things in comparison to some of the men that she had worked with, not to mention she was at a pretty good height herself. But even so, she knew that there was a possibility of either being true. She couldn't make assumptions.
Ted Olsen... "Isn't that the name of the guy from Naked Gun?" Renee couldn't help but initially question it, putting two and two together rather quickly. So she'd watched her fair share of movies, naturally before she had had a kid. She'd see probably seen too many of them and had no issues mocking them and noticing all of the little mistakes. "The case was like this one. Dead bodies found dug up with flesh gone, clearly not from decomposition. Only witnesses say the saw the person there. Stopped suddenly after five bodies."
Signs of a ghoul were absolutely clear. Of course, before this particular occurrence, Renee had had absolutely no idea about the supernatural. And this time she'd been able to get rid of it, so twenty years from now in her area there wouldn't be a problem. She was hoping the same for this. "Yes, twenty years apart each. I assume it was the same on this, then?" The raven-haired agent inquired, faintly raising an eyebrow.

Dean watched Renee watch him. He could tell she was questioning him. She wasn’t sure why because more feds don’t question each other. Maybe it something about him. Was it his purple stripped tie? Damn, it had to be that. He broke his gaze and looked around the crime scene. His train of thought was broken when Renee spoke. “Isn't that the name of the guy from Naked Gun?”
Shit, was his cover blown? Dean had to think hard, he’d pulled the name out of the blue. He’d heard it before but he wasn’t sure where. Dean smiled, “Yeah my parents were huge fans. So big they named me after an actor.” That was a total lie but whatever, his whole facade was a whole lie right now. “The case was like this one. Dead bodies found dug up with flesh gone, clearly not from decomposition. Only witnesses say the saw the person there. Stopped suddenly after five bodies.” Dean nodded. It was exactly like the case here. It sounded a little like when Sam and Dean discovered they had a half-brother. Maybe it was ghouls… It was a possibility. “It’s the same as our case here. Twenty years apart. Dead bodies without flesh.” Dean looked at the graves and walked over. He knelt down and looked at the coffin. The coffin had been forcefully opened and there were signs of flesh along the edges. He looked at the body. The body had no flesh on it. Dean’s thoughts went back to the ghouls. “Do you have any leads of who the person committing the crime is?” [/blockquote] “My character talking” “Your character talking” • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • •

The idea of it seemed to be rather strange, especially considering she didn't think the movie had come out all too longer ago. No more than thirty years, she had honestly thought it was closer to the twenties. The man didn't look too old - it was possible he could have been new from the academy, as well, considering he hadn't known that there were other agents that were to be working the case. Renee let it go with a simple bob of her head, though she couldn't help but still be slightly suspicious about it. She knew she was probably just worrying over things that were fine, but being aware of her surroundings and having a not so healthy amount of stress on her shoulders was something that she was quite used to having, and certainly did not expect to go away any time soon. It was all a part of the job - being a mom, a hunter, a federal agent. Neither of them were easy. Especially not all together.
Another ghoul? The possibility definitely made sense. While classic cannibalism was among humans, as disgusting as it was, it didn't seem to be as likely in this circumstance. Same pattern apparently, same classic signs. And of course, there was the fact that that was a twenty year cooling off period and there was no acceleration time, not to mention how old a human would have been now. Definitely not a human. "No, and everyone on our suspect list ended up with a tight alibi. Too tight to even hold anyone as just a suspect for questioning." Of course, it was all completely logical to her, but it wasn't like she could exactly go around expressing that. Being a good liar was an excellent thing, even if it had always given her a more mysterious air than most women, regardless of what she was doing at this point.

She knew that he wasn’t a real fed but he was going to keep playing the act for as long as he could before he had to give himself up. There was something different about her too. He couldn’t figure it out but there was something about her. She didn’t seem like your normal fed that was sent on cases like this. Dean stuck his hands in the pockets of his dress pants. If Sam was here helping him, they’d get through his faster. However, this women named Renee was the one helping him right now. He just had to be careful not to blow his cover.
“No, and everyone on our suspect list ended up with a tight alibi. Too tight to even hold anyone as just a suspect for questioning.”
Renee spoke. Alright, that was it. It wasn’t a human. It was defiantly something supernatural. Dean’s thoughts went back to the ghouls. He had hunted a ghoul that was pretending to be his half-brother Adam in Michigan. It would make sense if there was a nest or a family of them here. Dean nodded, he needed to get out of here, do a little of his own questioning, and then come back here at night when everyone was gone. “Alright well we have to find the thing that killed them,” Dean said, turning on his heel walking back to the Impala. It was hot and he was tired of wearing his suit. He’d much rather be in his jeans, tee-shirt, and boots. He turned back to Renee “I have something else to talk about, can you come back to my car please?” He turned around not waiting for her response and walked to his car. Maybe Renee was being a bit too paraniod about him - though it was definitely out of habit more than anything else, being constantly informed to always second guess people's motives and never trust anyone - but the fact that he said "thing" as opposed to something more common like person set her off a bit. It hinted definitely toward him believing it wasn't a human. To any hunter, it was pretty clear that it wasn't from the beginning, but there wasn't a need to point that out. Not yet. She had to confirm her suspicious before anything else. She didn't take risks, not risks like that at least.
Turning and walking away from her wasn't something that Renee expected, and she couldn't help but raise her eyebrows faintly. There was definitely no way he was a fed, to say the least, considering the fact that for one, you didn't turn your back so directly to people. Or well, she didn't. She just tended to expect others to do the same. And then of course there was the amount of disrespect mixed in with it, though that didn't stand out quite as remarkably to her. Some thoughts were just rather easily over riding others, and that happened to be a part of it at the moment.
Following him curiously, she couldn't help but be slightly surprised at the choice of car. Definitely an older model. Definitely unexpected. "Impala '67?" Renee guessed with a faint smile. Small talk always seemed to calm down nerves at least, and cars seemed to be pretty popular with well, the entire male population. Considering most of the people she worked with were precisely that, as the rumors were pretty damn accurate about it being a boy's club, it was pretty easy to catch on with as well. "What'd you need to talk to me about?" She inquired, quirking a single eyebrow at him, even if the answer felt pretty obvious to her.
