picture. 400 x 200 looks secksy. [/img] Not Phoenix, anywhere but Phoenix! Dodger’s mind panicked at the idea that he now found himself back in his hometown where the pack who had made him what he was were surely looking for him and a little pay back as well. It was a simple mistake that brought him here and it all started with a train.
He had jumped a freight train last night near Reno, heading east. He wanted to get to Georgia where it might be a bit cooler or at least the parks had water you could lounge around in as a human or a dog. His first mistake was falling asleep on the train, lulled asleep by the rocking motion and the sound of the train going across the rails. He didn’t realize when it stopped or that people were beginning to look in all of the cars for stowaways. Bu the time he was being dragged out and beaten with a bat it was to late, he was left in the desert to make his way into town on his own steam, not daring to shift and defend himself in a 3 on 1 fight, especially when they had guns (sure bullets would do nothing against him but they hurt a hell of a lot). So on four legs he walked towards the lights in the distance, finally falling asleep in dog form under a tree in a park.
At first light the scents of the area finally flooded his senses, this city having its own unique odor. It’s funny he didn’t notice it last night but he excused it as exhaustion as his ears perked up and his eyes began to dart around frantically, finally focusing on a cactus. Yes this was indeed the wrong part of the US for him to be in. He quickly sprang to his paws and dashed off towards the closest housing development looking for someone who hung their clothing out to dry.
New clothing acquired, Dodger had made his way to the highway, his thumb out to get a ride quickly out of town. He knew the longer he stayed anywhere near Phoenix the more chance he’d get recognized (his mother still had missing posters up with his face on them) but his old pack might catch his scent and they would murder him in cold blood for leaving them.

He was in Arizona where the sun was bright and would irate him. It made no sense of him out driving down the high way in the middle of the day. He was usually asleep at his time of day. However, he couldn’t sleep today. There were too many things going on in his mind. He couldn’t get his dead half-brother out of his head. He’d thought about Ethan all night and now all day. Jayden shook his head attempting to clear it. Unfortunately, he was unsuccessful.
He’d started off in the south but eventually moved east. He’d driven from Louisiana to Arizona only stopping to feed. He’d gotten better and hiding his tracks while feeding. He knew how to dispose of the body. Sometimes he’d go after animals but he preferred human blood. It made him stronger and he was able to last longer between feeds. Traveling took about a day and a half, closer to two days.
Now he was in Phoenix moving along the highway. Jayden could smell the vampires and there were a lot of ‘em. It was a big city where people going missing all the time. A couple more missing people wouldn’t affect the balance of things. Jayden also smelled humans and other things. He’d gotten use to the smell of blood and it didn’t affect him as much as it use too. The worse is when he’s unbearably thirsty. He’d gone on two killing sprees when he was very first changed because he couldn’t control himself when he was thirsty. It had not been a good experience…
Driving along a curve, Jayden saw a guy standing with his thumb stuck out. He was hitch hiking. The guy had on clothes that didn’t exactly fit him and he was dirty. Jayden pulled off to the side and leaned across the car to open the door. “Hey! You need a ride?”
