i'm rather curious as to what your favorite episodes are, so why not make a thread about it?

5. CHANGING CHANNELS

honestly, i am all for those silly episodes of supernatural, just because of how ridiculously entertaining they are. this episode is one of my favorites just because it made me laugh, a lot, and i know that supernatural isn't always meant to be laughed at, but this episode was just hysterical. plus, i love the trickster, and especially how he turned out to actually be an archangel. And, the sitcom bit just killed me, haha.

4. TWO MINUTES TO MIDNIGHT

death was just so epic. his whole introduction with the music, and the dude that bumped into him dying was just so awesome. plus, i liked how badass Castiel was in this. in the very beginning when he was in the hospital, he looked so human, and it was cool to see him somewhat helpless. i loved it when he entered the room where sam, dean and pestilence were and they were like "how did you get here?" and Cas was like "I took a bus." another thing I loved about this episode was Crowley; I just really loved the relationship between him and Dean from the start.

3. THE MAN WHO WOULD BE KING

this episode is brilliant because you finally find out what Castiel has been up to, and the fact that he was working with Crowley was just awesome. And I really loved seeing how Crowley made hell a never-ending line that once you get to the front you go right back to the end. And, how this was when Sam, Dean and Bobby figured out that he was working with Crowley. I was almost crying, because Castiel just had to say that thing about kryptonite that they had said earlier, when he was listening in on them. But, I liked the episode mostly because of the interaction between Castiel and Crowley.

2. THE DEVIL YOU KNOW

Yes, Crowley is one of my favorite characters (if you hadn't realized by now). So, this was the first episode that he was prominent throughout the entire thing and I really enjoyed it. Not the mention the fact that Brady happened to be a childhood friend of Sam, which just made the whole episode even more interesting. I basically loved everything about this episode, especially when the hellhounds came, and I really thought that Crowley was gone, but when he came back with his own and said "Mine's bigger" I knew there was no going back, and that was when I realized that Crowley was one of my all time favorite characters.

1. CAGED HEAT

SO MANY GREAT MOMENTS IN THIS EPISODE. Castiel watching porn, Castiel and Meg, Crowley and uh, "Crowley" (the alpha shape-shifter). The only thing I didn't like was the ending, when Crowley died and everything. I had one of those moments where I didn't know what to do but scream at the TV. But then Crowley comes bac later in the season, so whatever. In this episode, I loved that we were able to see where Crowley conducted his interrogations. "Sorry, but your exceptional good looks won't buy you any mercy." There were a lot of great quotes and character interactions, as well as that awkward moment when Castiel and Meg made out. Just the look on Dean's face cracks me up every time.


THERE ARE MY TOP FIVE. it was really hard to narrow it down, because there are so many brilliant episodes of supernatural.

With 100+ episodes of Supernatural, picking my top five favorites is nearly impossible! I could definitely do a top five for each season, but not all six! xD

Maybe I'll do a seasonal review of my top episodes at a later date. Huh.

Avoiding season finales (because they're all so good):

#5 - DEAD MAN'S BLOOD

Season One!? Oddric, why so retro?

Dead Man's Blood was the rising climax of the first season, and it was incredibly action packed. Sam and Dean met up with their father again, Supernatural portrayed vampires extremely well, they finally got something that could be used to kill Azazel, and the end of the episode was fantastic. They had won, got the Colt, and were going to hunt down Yellow Eyes together. The all too common "epic episode" right before the season finale are always done well. But for me, Dead Man's Blood is my favorite.

#4 - MYSTERY SPOT

I have a soft spot for the Trickster. If I had a top twenty list, all his episodes would be in it.

This episode was funny, dark, and sad. The only time this beautiful combination of comedy and drama can come together is during a Trickster/Gabriel episode. Ben Edlund is a wonderful television screenwriter!

Sam comes face-to-face with his worst fear in this episode, over and over again. More importantly, he has to survive half a year without Dean. While I think that was a little strange (since Dean should have been out in four months after he died...but...maybe it was all really just an illusion) it definitely made me feel incredibly sorry for Sam.

#3 - ON THE HEAD OF A PIN

Such a great episode. One of the rare parts of Season 4 where we really get to see the "Hell" side of Dean. What happened to him in the pit. In fact, this episode had a lot to do with a different side of ourselves. Dean tortured again and was incredibly distraught about it, Sam began to use the full extent of his demonic powers, and Castiel had finally really begun to question what was going on. All around, an intense episode.

#2 - WEEKEND AT BOBBY'S

Season 6 had a few bad episodes, but it also had a few really great episodes: The Third Man, Family Matters, And Then There Were None, The Man Who Knew Too Much. My favorite of the whole season, however, would definitely be Weekend at Bobby's.

A Bobby-centric episode. After five years of being on Supernatural, he derserved a little spot light. Never mind Dean is a great director.

It was comedic, silly, and a little dark, too. We finally got to see the result of Bobby's deal with Crowley, and it was revealed that Crowley was king of Hell. A bit of a surprise to me, but he was definitely the man to take charge.

One of the most important points was that Dean expressed his concern about Sam. About time. Something felt off about him, and I was happy to see that start to become a focus of the season.

But really, I just have to say I loved this episode because of Bobby's involvement. So, great. The show started out with Sam and Dean, they called Bobby, talked a bit, Bobby hung up the phone, and then...nothing! It just stayed at Bobby! You have no idea how much that made me smile.

#1 - CHANGING CHANNELS

The creative force of Edlund and Kripke. This has to be the greatest episode of Supernatural, ever. Sometimes Supernatural goes a little over board with episodes (The French Mistake, The Real Ghostbusters) and it's not that great. It's almost a little annoying. That, or it tries just a litte too hard. But Changing Channels was perfect. Beyond perfect.

I had always felt a little off about the Trickster, given the amount of power he has. Time manipulation, all the illusions, his almost omnipotence...it was all too much for me to handle. Don't get me started on Jesse the Demon Spawn. So when it was revealed that the Trickster was really an archangel, I was very satisfied.

I don't think I can even fully describe my feelings for this episode. Pure genius. It was immature, silly humor done right.

These are my top five favorite episodes. It was hard to pick them considering there are over 100 and it was hard put them in order. Like Oddric, all the seasons premieres and finales are really good.

5. Wendigo

This is just a good episode. I like the monster they're hunting. It's also a classic hunter and hunted game where both sides are hunters and the hunted. The boys are finally getting into the swing of things and it's really the first time you see Sam trying to save Dean. One of my favorite lines comes from this episode. "I think he wants us to pick up where he left off. You know, saving people, hunting things. The family business."

4. Bad Day at Black Rock

This is another good one. It's funny too with all the bad luck that Sammy has. I love the line and puppy dog face that Sam makes when he loses his shoe in the sewer. It's just so darn cute! The episode also introduces you to a character, Bela, that I'm not really sure why she's in the series besides the interactions between her and Dean are funny.

3. The Man Who Would be King

This episode is really good. I love how it's centered around Cas. I also love the fact that it's one big long prayer to God from Cas. I feel bad for Cas, Dean, Sam, and Bobby in this episode. It shows us that Cas is at war with himself as to whether or not he should follow through with his plan. Does he want to lose his friends? It also answers so many questions that we all have about the season. It tells us what happened that year Sam was in hell and why Cas is working with Crowley. This episode played a huge role in the second part of the sixth season.

2. In My Time of Dying

I love hurt/comfort things and this episode falls under both the hurt and comfort category. Even though this episode brings back bad memories, I still love it. So much happens. Dean is on the brink of life and death, Sam is trying to make everything right, John is trying to do something to save his eldest son. Dean has an out of body experience and finds himself face to face with a reaper (without knowing it for half the time). John sells his soul to Azazel, the thing that killed his wife, to save Deans life. Sam finds John on the floor dead. John leaves Dean with a secret that leaves all of us wondering what it could be. All in all, it’s a pretty damn good drama filled episode.

1. Born Under a Bad Sign

This episode is so good! You get to see evil Sammy. I like evil Sammy. This episode also has a couple pretty good lines. There are some funny ones too. You see Sam being possessed by a demon and turns around to attack not only Jo but also shots his brother so he falls into the bay. In the beginning of the episode, Sam and Dean try to figure out where he went for a while and then Sam suddenly attacks Dean out of nowhere. That’s where the real shock beings for this one. You later find out that Sam had been possessed by Meg, a demon that had encounters with earlier. After Meg is exorcised from Sam, he wakes up not remembering what happened. This episode is good and I just plain love it.
