LUCIE sat at the bar, alone and uninterested. She had been lost for a majority of that day, and just needed to unwind, before heading back to the motel she was staying at. Honestly, she didn’t know what she was looking for; being a hunter and all, normally she was attracted to towns that had unexplained disappearances and bizarre weather, but this little town in the heart of Massachusetts had absolutely nothing going on. Lucie was just passing by, trying to find something to do, so that she won’t die of complete boredom. She sometimes got tired of the life of a hunter, constantly on the move, though the thrill of the fight was what kept her going.
HER parents had never wanted this for her. Especially her father, who had been a hunter, before he disappeared, though she was sure that he was deceased, she still had hope in finding him one day. But, she remembered the day when she had told her mother what she wanted to be, how bizarre she had acted towards it, and how her mother said that she was digging her own grave. Not that any of that mattered anymore, Lucie liked hunting, for the most part, and she would continue doing it for as long as she liked, no matter what anyone had said. It was dangerous job, she knew that, but it kept her on her toes.
PLUS, it was nice to get away from the family, even though the only family she had left was her mother. Lucie did feel bad about leaving her behind, but they did still keep in touch. Her mother needed her, after all; Lucie was the only person she had left, after what happened to her husband, and Lucie’s father. And, her mother was all she had left, also, because she wasn’t one for socializing with random people. It was just as well that she was a hunter, breezing through small towns, not worrying about friends that could possibly be put into danger because of her occupation. Her mother was the only thing that she had to worry about.
SHE ran her hand through her hair, pushing it out of her face so she could take a sip of the beer she had ordered. Yes, Lucie drank beer, which came in handy after having a long day of making wrong turns, but being too awkward to ask anybody for directions. The bar was quiet, there were a few guys at the other end of the bar, and the bar keeper was staying out of the way, wiping the counter away from where she was. She let out a small sigh, and looked up at the clock. It was ten-thirty, which probably meant that she would just there for another hour or two, de-stressing.
LUCIE yawned and stretched a bit, contemplating on where she should head next, determined to find something to keep her busy.

Gabriel was bored. Very. Very. Bored. That right there is a deadly combination, the trickster and boredom. He had just got off work and was looking for something fun to do to amuse himself with. Yes work, he considered himself in "witness protection" and worked with the Pepsi Max company in order to keep on the down low. Nobody would ever expect an archangel to work for a soda pop industry, nobody.
Gabe grinned smugly as he entered the bar, realizing how almost empty it was. I need to spice things up a bit. he thought to himself, taking a look around. Clucking his tongue a wave of people suddenly began flowing in through the bar doors and in just a few minutes the bar was roaring with life and laughter. Just the way this archangel liked it.
"A cold one, please."
The archangel grabbed the beer and took a sip out of it before taking a seat at the counter, near a woman who looked rather bored her own self."Hey hot stuff, why are you sitting all by yourself? Join the party." Gabriel motioned towards the clusters of people that now were dancing as the juke box played. A juke box installed by the trickster himself.

Lucie sighed and ordered yet another beer. She was all ready feeling a buzz, and had no intention to stop drinking; she didn’t do this often and when she did she indulged herself as much as she could. It wasn’t like she needed to be anywhere the next day, or had a job or anything. Another thing that she liked about being a hunter is that she could do whatever she pleased, so if she felt like it (or if she got too hammered) the next day she could spend in bed sleeping. The freedom of the job was something that you couldn’t get with any other occupation, and it was something that she deeply valued.
The quietness of the bar suddenly exploded as people began to pour in through the front doors of the establishment. Lucie blinked a few times, it was somewhat odd at the way they all came at once, but she didn’t think twice about it. The only thing that she really cared about now was that her concentration was broken, and that she was now debating whether to leave sooner rather than later. Lucie wasn’t really in mood for people at the moment, because she did happen to be somewhat antisocial. She wasn’t always that way, it was just something that she developed during her time as a hunter, after all, she didn’t interact with many people anymore, besides the witnesses and the victims.
She had her mind made up; leaving seemed like a pretty good idea. As she was about to pay for her beer, a man spoke up next to her. Lucie looked at him, her attention caught by the way he had called her “hot stuff”. She wasn’t amused in the slightest, but his offer was tempting. It had been a while since she had actually let loose and had a little fun, but before she could properly think it over, her instinct had gotten the best of her. ”Uhm, no thanks. Sorry,”
Lucie turned back to her beer, a little embarrassed at how hasty she had been. But it wasn’t like that after this she would ever see him again, so it didn’t really matter to her. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

Gabriel rose an eyebrow. No? That was a word he hadn't heard from a woman in a while, not since Kali. He shuddered a bit inside at the thought of his favorite pagan lover. He hadn't seen any sign of her since being back, but he figured she must have went into hiding her own self after all the drama with the devil. Gabe pushed aside his thoughts and smiled charmingly at the brunette next to him.
"Aw come on, sweetheart, I need a dance partner."
The Trickster finished off his beer and set the bottle down with a CLINK! He glanced back over to the bartender, beckoning him over with a finger. "Get tootsie here somethin' fruity will ya?" Gabriel smirked and extended a hand to his new female acquaintance. "The name's Gabe by the way and who, my dear, are you? " He waggled his eyebrows, not wanting to give up his attempt for conversation and a dance.
.....Geez....I haven't had this many problems trying to talk to a girl since the great incident of '82.....Worst night of my life....Apparently Daniella ended up being a Daniel....

Lucie turned her attention back towards the guy. ’A persistent one, huh?’ He did have a way about him that was legitimately charming, but still, she wasn’t one for actually having a good time at a bar. She was all for those lonely drinks that she practically needed in order to get her head straight. Lucie did have times like these every so often, when killing things really started to get to her. Tonight was supposed to be the night where she kicked back and assure herself that everything that she had done in the past few years were for the best.
She knew that there were more hunters out there, but it made her feel somewhat important for taking care of any supernatural being she could. Of course, there were times when there was nothing she could do to save an innocent, but destroying the creature prevented more innocents from dying. It was nice to know that she was making a difference in the world, even though she couldn’t really tell anybody about her “adventures” as a hunter, because “regular” people have such a closed mind. Most of them didn’t believe in the “supernatural” and upon hearing about them, it immediately leads to them questioning whomever had spoken about it’s sanity.
Lucie finished off her beer just as the man had ordered her a fruity drink, something that she didn’t necessarily appreciate, bit she decided that she would just play along, in hopes that maybe if she complied with a man for a bit, she’d get some time by herself. It wasn’t that he didn’t seem nice or anything, it was just Lucie being her antisocial self. She gingerly took his hand and shook. ”I’m Lucie,”
Lucie replied, giving him a small smile. ”Anyway…well, I’m not really good at dancing, but I’m sure that any other girl here would love to dance with you,” She said, softly as she eyed the drink that the bartender set in front ofher. Excuses were something that she made on a daily basis, and tonight wasn’t going to be anything different.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Gabriel looked at her, curiosity rising. What was wrong with her? Was something wrong with him? Did he lose his charming touch? The Trickster questioned himself, wondering if his mojo was starting to dim out on him. That's ridiculous...Girls love me! He thought that at least as he absent mindlessly traced his name in Enochian on the counter with his finger.
Gabe chuckled at the girls comment of the other girls wanting to dance with him. She was right. Absolutely and positively right. The trickster had conjured up all these people, so they would love to dance with him. But he didn't want another dance partner, being his stubborn self, he wanted to dance with this cutie. She seemed nice enough and was stubborn, not those clingy blondes back at his hotel that would easily do whatever he wanted. No, he liked resilience, it reminded him of himself.
"Come on, I'll teach you then, Lucie. Dancing is a specialty of mine."
He jumped out of his seat and adjusted his hat on his head, eyes staring down at Lucie. " Pleeeease, sweet cheeks? I won't bother you for the rest of the night." Gabriel put on his best pouting face and even busted out the classic puppy dog eyes. He wasn't one to take "no" as an answer, that's for sure. Even if he had to harass and beg till the sun came up.
As Gabe continued his plea, the bartender just stared at him, shaking his head in a disapproving manner. It was that head shake that reminded Gabriel of his family. His dickbag's he called brothers. If they saw him right now they would have surely hounded him for his behavior. It was "un-angelic" of him to start a karaoke party in a bar, it wasn't "setting a good example for the younger angels" to be seen hitting and flirting with someone he had only just met minutes earlier.
The Trickster smirked. He specifically remembered a time when he had told Michael that he quote "preferred hoe's before bro's". It was true, sad, but true.

I'M ON THE HIGHWAY TO HELLliving easy, living free season ticket on a one-way ride Lucie exhaled slightly; she was a little annoyed at Gabe for being so pushy, but she couldn’t help but wonder, what made her so special? Out of everyone in the bar, why did he want to dance with her? It was flattering, nonetheless, but she wasn’t one to just give in to a guy so easily. And she wasn’t really one that actually talk to anyone when she was in a bar trying to calm herself down, but this guy had successfully taken her mind off of the situation, so in a way, it was a good thing that he had bothered her.
”I don’t know…”
She trailed off slightly, surprised that he had offered to “teach” her. Lucie did know how to dance, it was just an excuse, but this guy seemed to really want to dance with her. She bit her lip and looked at him; he didn’t look like some bum that had just walked in off of the street; but it really peaked her interest that right after he had walked in, a horde of people did. It was one of those things that Lucie over thought, because it probably didn’t mean anything. She was known to overreact over situations. She was trying her best not to give in, because being difficult happened to be a specialty of hers, especially when it came to people she did not wish to talk to. But this guy wasn’t all that bad he was just persistent. He wasn’t a complete slob or anything, and she guessed that giving into him wouldn’t be that big of a deal. It would be for one dance, one night, and then she would never have to see him again. Plus, the whole “I won’t bother you for the rest of the night” appealed greatly to her, so she decided that what could be the harm in having a little fun for once? Lucie took a few sips of the drink that Gabe had ordered her, before letting out a small sigh. She turned to face him, watching him plead, which was quite amusing. ”Okay, I’ll dance with you,” Lucie said in a huff, folding her arms across her chest. ”Only if you won’t bother me afterwards.” She finished the drink, and stood up, pouting slightly. ”Shall we?”. Score one for the Gabester! Gabriel's eyes lit up as his new female acquaintance finally gave in. So he did still have his old charm after-all. He took her by the hand, not caring if she felt awkward about it or not, and walked her over to the jukebox. There wasn't anything fancy playing, just some tunes from the "good old days". No dance or techno music tonight. It was a bit of a shame, Gabriel loved to rave.
Then again, what kind of Jukebox has trance music?
"What would you like to dance to, sweetheart?" Gabriel flipped through the songs, his eyes scanning for something...catchy. Something that he wouldn't mind dancing with this beauty to. Perhaps, a slow song? No...that would make Lucie a little too...awkward. A fast paced one then? That sounded better.
Gabriel, all though you would never tell by just looking at him, was actually a very good dancer. He was a party going angel, after-all, it would be blasphemy if he couldn't bust out some dance moves. His arsenal of dance included the sprinkler, the lawnmower and the disco. Hey, he even knew how to cat daddy and do the jerk!
The Trickster found himself looking down at an Elvis Presley song. Oh that brought back memories. Gabe was one of the many that could be caught Elvis impersonating. Of course, it was one of his minor hobbies, one of those things that you were a bit embarrassed to talk about. An archangel impersonating the King. That right there was Priceless comedy.
Gabriel glanced back at Lucie. "Jailhouse Rock?"

I'M ON THE HIGHWAY TO HELLliving easy, living free season ticket on a one-way ride Lucie noticed how bright his eyes had gotten when she had accepted, though she didn’t really care. Of course he’d be ‘excited’; she had given in to him, but for good reason. If she hadn’t than she would probably sitting on that barstool all night while listening to Gabe bother her about dancing with him. So, it would be for the best to just get it over with, right? To have the rest of the night to just soak in the brilliance of beer, and to keep to herself. Either that or head back to the motel and get some rest; the next day would be a long one full of driving, and she needed to be ready.
She was a bit surprised by Gabe actually taking her by the hand, because she had just met him, but she kept her mouth shut. Lucie didn’t need an explanation; it was just something that she needed to endure. Once she was finished their little dance, than she’d be out the door, and on her own. Not hanging out with this guy. Even though he wasn’t even that bad. Just ridiculously persistent. And was partial to pet names. She let out a small sigh as Gabe lead her over to the jukebox. Why didn’t she want to dance with him in the first place? He was just a guy. An ordinary guy. The only reason she had come up with was because she didn’t know him, but that wasn’t a real reason, because she was in a bar by herself, which instantly put her out there.
Lucie shrugged her shoulders a bit. ”Doesn’t matter, it’s up to you,”
She replied with a small smile. The way she figured it, if she pretended or even tried to have a good time dancing, maybe it would be easier to get through. But still, there was no reason for her to be annoyed at the fact that a man had asked her to dance with, besides the fact that any human interaction she ever has would mostly likely be ruined by her brilliant ability of making any situation awkward. The song he had suggested rang out in her ears, and gave way to a small, but genuine smile. ”Yeah, that sounds great.” Lucie answered, in a approval. Gabriel nodded at her and flicked the song on, smile glued to face and foot tapping to the first bit of rhythm that spilled from the jukebox. The best music is the old music after-all, at least that's what older people seem to say. Gabe loved all music, country, rock, pop. Hell, I'm even tight with Snoop Dogg.
The archangel shimmied out into the pool of people, his hand still clasped onto Lucie's. Let's rock, everybody let's rock. Everyone around them started dancing and singing along, as if they knew the lyrics by heart. Well...they probably did. They weren't actually real people, they were one of Gabriel's tricks. An illusion of the eye. Yes, you could touch them, talk to them, like real people. But, lo and behold, they were just formed from some empty beer cans and a bit of Gabe's mojo.
He twisted and turned to the beat, letting go of the girl's hand now. Gabriel still kept close to his companion, watching her with wonder. He was curious to how well she could dance. She had seemed somewhat truly happy about picking this song.
A fellow Elvis fan?
Gabriel swayed his arms and hips from side to side, getting into it. He turned on his heel, doing a twist and accidentally bumping into someone behind him. He waved a hand apologetically at them before continuing his whirling, tapping and cavorting. He was having a blast and it was only a minute or so into the song.
Gabe stretched out his hand again, this time not to grab hers but to offer to spin her. It had been quite a while since Gabriel had danced with a woman as cute as this Lucie girl, as unusual as it seemed. He was really starting to like her. Not like like, but as a friend like. His head's usually always in sex mode, but not tonight. He was beginning to wonder what was up with that. Perhaps it was because he knew there was no possible way in Heaven or Hell that he was going to get Lucie to come back to his hotel room.
She was too stubborn, too innocent...and oddly enough Gabriel respected that.

I'M ON THE HIGHWAY TO HELLliving easy, living free season ticket on a one-way ride Lucie followed Gabe out onto the dance floor, her hand still in his. She wasn’t all that excited for this moment, because she didn’t really know what to expect from him, but at least they would be dancing to a song that was actually decent. She wasn’t a fan of today’s music; it was all just one big headache to her, but now that they weren’t dancing to some obnoxious techno music, she felt a bit more at ease. Jailhouse Rock was a familiar tune to her, and one that she did enjoy, so it would make this whole experience of dancing with Gabe a lot more enjoyable.
She looked around at all of the other people, amazed at how they all seemed to know the song. A feeling creeped over her, one that couldn’t shake. Something was wrong here, out of place, but she didn’t say anything. Lucie thought that it would be best if she hadn’t mentioned it, because she wasn’t in the mood to get wrapped up into some mess, and it probably was just her imagination. Most of these people were probably drunk, and mumbling along to the lyrics. Lucie let out a deep breath, and watched as Gabe started dancing, just watching for a moment at how good he was.
She started to dance along, not being too snazzy, just doing the basics. Lucie was never really one for dancing, but she would do it when she had too, like at school dances and stuff. But now, she hadn’t actually danced in years, and getting back into it was a little hard, but she did her best. A small giggle escaped her lips as she saw Gabe bump into someone, slightly amused. Lucie took his hand and spun underneath it, trying to play along until the song was over. All she really wanted was to sleep. But, she would endure this, because she knew that afterwards she would be able to be on her way back to the motel. Alone.

The song began to come to an end and Gabriel's heart fell a little. He had promised to leave Lucie alone after this...but he really didn't want to go. He wanted to stay here, under the dim bar lights, dancing the night away with her. He knew that he could have easily persuaded her to stay with him, her being a human and all, it would only take a flick of his wrist. But, Gabe, refused to do that. He wouldn't take advantage of this girl, it wasn't morally right.
So when the jukebox stuttered and stopped he gave Lucie a rather cheeky grin and bowed, as though bowing to a Queen. "Thanks for the dance." he told her, the archangel was practically beaming. Gabe lifted himself up from his bow and gave her a nod. "Guess you get to go home now, Lucie. But be careful, will you?" Gabriel gave her a serious look. "Don't go wandering around in the night alone. There's been a hell of a lot of demon sightings." With that, his face softened and he walked away from the hunter, going over to the bathrooms in the corner.
Way to kill the mood Gabsie boy. He thought to himself, splashing water on his flushed face. Boy, did his face look red. Was that from the dancing? Or was he blushing? Gabriel couldn't even tell, really. He wouldn't have been surprised if it was from both.
Gabriel glanced back over to the door leading to the main bar and he lifted his hand, in doing so, all the people out on the dance floor vanished. Now there was nobody there except for the people that had been in there earlier. The jukebox even disappeared, as though nothing had even happened. Gabe looked himself over in the mirror, or rather, looked over his vessel, before strolling out of the restroom, past the bar counter and to the door.
Hmmm....Where to go now....
