Food had sounded like a good idea when she first stepped into the little greasy spoon on the side of the highway but once the plate of french fries hit the table she could only bring herself to eat one or two of them, a strange thing for the demoness. Her eyes kept being drawn to the highway outside the window, watching the cars pass by. The world still seemed like a hazy dream she was still waking from, you didn’t spend as much time in hell as she did without having a bit of a issue re-acclimating to the world again. Also if you were a normal demon you wouldn’t sit in a crappy diner with a plate of fries trying to sort through your feelings in order to try to will yourself to get up and start to move again, but she was no normal demon, she was one of the most unique demons that the world had ever known.
Years ago if you asked her why it was she was so successful, so cut throat, so able to twist and turn people and bend them to her will she would have smirked and told you it was because she understood humans more than any other demon in the world. Was it by design or simply a mistake when she was made in hell she never knew but unlike other demons she still had humanity left in her, she could feel like a human, and for well over six hundred years it served her well. She used that understanding as a weapon, serving her hell bosses by temping unwitting mortals into the pit, twisting their emotions with her quick mind and her deep understanding of them, all of it an advantage, that was until she ran up against one Samuel Winchester.
When she was given the task of setting Sam on the path to helping Lilith and company raise Lucifer from his cage she was more than happy to help out. She knew that if Lucifer made it back to earth he’d reward her for her devotion, perhaps an upgrade to red or even white eyes for it, so it was a no brainier. That’s when she started to stalk the younger Winchester and then things began to change for her. Here was a man who, even though he had Azazel’s blood in his veins, struggled every day to still be a good man. Here is a man who fought against the darkness and anger in him to do the right thing. The funny thing is that all the lies that Ruby had told Sam about herself, that she was a demon fighting other demons, that she wanted to be good, that she was there to help him, she honestly started to believe all of them because of him. When it finally came down to it and Lilith called for Dean Winchester’s soul Ruby found herself firmly in between her boss and the brothers, surprising even herself. Well she paid for that with her life.
It wasn’t long after that Lilith decided to try to trust Ruby again. The black eyed demoness had gotten her claws into Sam Winchester and that is where Lilith needed to be. Well it didn’t take long and Ruby had proved her loyalty to Sam once again, saving him from himself and Lilith, only to find out that is exactly what Lilith wanted her to do, she had been played and now was set in an impossible position, pushed down a path she could not stop no matter what she did, she had to force Sam to let loose Lucifer on the world or she would loose him forever. She lied to herself again, told herself that she’d find a way out for Sam, that no matter what she’d keep him safe, of course Dean ended that lie pretty effectively at the end of her own knife.
Now here she was again, in another impossible position, serving Lilith’s ex of all people. She had her marching orders, get back in with the Winchesters and be Crowley’s eyes and ears with them. She really had no choice, she had to do it, and she hated herself for it. The demon in her told her to quit whining, she had another shot at life topside and she should be grateful to be out of the pit, just put on her black eyes and suck it up. The human in her just wanted to run to Sam and beg him to help her, plead with him to understand. It was days like this that she wished she was like every other demon out there.

"Oh, Jimm. You sure know how to treat a lady right. " The young female chuckled, stopping her car a short distance away from a small diner. " What can I say? You were certainly an easy girl to get along with," Samyaza said with a smile, fingers tapping against the passenger side's door. " Are you sure you don't want me to go with you into the diner? I promise I won't be a bother." " I would, believe me. But I have an important meeting. I'll be done in an hour's time and give you a call. You gave me your number, remember?" " I know, I'm sorry! I just have so much fun with you. Well, I'll be here to pick you up once you finish, and we can start where we left off." Samyaza gave his lady friend a wink before stepping out of the car and toward the diner. " Too clingy," Samyaza said, straightening his tie. The fallen angel had no meetings of any sort, he simply wanted to get away from his one night stand. And he certainly would not be calling her back. He tossed a crumbled up piece of paper into a trash can as he entered the diner, eyes looking around for someone, anyone, of interest. Slipping a french fry into his mouth, Samyaza sat across Ruby in a small booth alongside a window. " Sorry, miss. I'm famished." Of course, demons didn't actually need to eat. It was mostly a pleasure factor, and they couldn't have their host's body running weak on them. " Hope you don't mind, you didn't seem to keen on finishing your meal so I figured I'd help you out. Plus, you look like you need some company. What kind of man would I be if I didn't offer some support?" Rather upfront, Samyaza stole another fry. There was something about Ruby that attracted him, something familiar. Whatever that was, it had Samyaza very interested.[/blockquote]

when the devil wants to dance with you ,YOU BETTER SAY NEVER because a dance with the devil might last you forever - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Her head didn’t move, only her eyes, glaring at the newcomer who dared invite himself not only into her space but to her fries. She sat there giving him a look that could kill a moment before her a sneer of disgust laced across her dark features, her eyes moving back to the road. People pissed her off sometimes with their assumptions, men doubly so, especially the men who thought they were charmers. This one reminded her of Dean, which turned her stomach, of course it also made her wary of him because the older Winchester was more of a threat to her than anyone in the world. Still, she was at heart a predator and this was her territory he had invited himself into and there was no way she was going to back down to him without good reason to do so, weakness was a little death she was no willing to give into at this moment. “I’ll hold my opinion on the whole man issue at this point. What kind of support to you honestly think you can offer me?”Her voice came out bitter, sarcastic, and if it were a dagger Samyaza would have it sticking in his chest at that moment. She finally turned her head from the window, sizing him up a moment, seeing what it was about this person which gave her instincts cause to pause. Had she not been in the middle of a diner with humans around she might have grabbed his hand in a show of force, breaking a finger or two to see what his reaction would be. Normally she’d enjoy a little back and forth banter but she had little patience today, her mind working to try to figure out the obstacles in front of her and a way around her current predicament. She sure as hell didn’t want to go back to hell this soon and back there how would she be able to stalk….err protect Sam from those things in this world which now threatened him. She was sure the brothers had no idea how many things really wanted at them, Castiel was the least of their worries on that front. There too, she could approach the new God and see if he was really all powerful, if he were willing to go up against Crowley for her, but they had never really been on what one would call friendly terms. Yes they had sort of worked together but she knew that Cas, push come to shove, was Dean’s pet as much as she was Sam’s, so Cas might just outright kill her on site because of the affection he held for the elder Winchester, so many damn things to consider and so little time to do it all in. She had quite the attitude! Though, compared to some of the women Samyaza had tried to butter up, she was quite timid. Maybe he had all the people in the diner to thank for that. She was probably afraid to cause a scene. Unfortunately, not all women were like that. It seemed he had gotten lucky today. She was just feisty enough.
"Ouch. Well, just let me know when you want to get back to the 'man issue'." He winked, taking another french fry, Samyaza plopped it into his mouth. This wasn't his regular tactic for getting a woman. There just something strange about her, and his usual lust was suffering from over thinking things. Being playful was fun for a change, though.
"I can provide any kind of support you need. I can be a friend, a lover, your personal psychologist. But, I need to know what's going inside that pretty head of yours before anything, " he said, swallowing and chewing fries as he spoke. " You might be surprised by how helpful I can be. What do you have to lose?" Samyaza wasn't so sure he could actually help this girl with her problems, in actuality. He was by no means a psychologist. In fact, with all the problems he had concerned himself, he probably needed to see one. But, like he said, what was there to lose?[/blockquote]

when the devil wants to dance with you ,YOU BETTER SAY NEVER because a dance with the devil might last you forever - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Leaning forward every so slightly she looked Samyaza in the eye, his words sounding oddly familiar, like something she had tried in her younger days, a demonic pick up line as it were. Offering someone a taste of something they needed, like a pusher getting a mark hooked on a drug, then slowly the price would go up, more and more. The last person she played this game with was Sam only that time she was the one who paid and was still paying for it. Well either this person was just a human with a really bad sense of how to put things, a demon searching for a soul, or someone Crowley had sent in to check up on her. Any of those options meant she had to choose her next words and actions carefully, which she did, slowly sliding the plate of fries over to him. “Lose? Not sure really, depends on what you’re selling. See I used to be in sales a long time ago. So is it a golden fiddle you are setting against my immortal soul or just looking to get laid?”If she read the situation wrong she could laugh the fiddle reference off to the popular song but she was betting on this being either a low level demon or a Crowley lackey, either way she needed to know but fast so she could make sure the next moves in the game were her’s. Raising an eyebrow, Samyaza stared back. He was honestly curious about what was troubling this young woman, but now things were getting a bit complicated. It was less about the playful flirting and more about figuring out this girl's game.
Her choice of words did not go unnoticed by Samyaza. Neither did the plate of fries. There was something familiar about her, and the fallen angel couldn't let it be ignored any longer. He was about to do something a little risky. It would either get him in trouble, the girl would just freak out or, maybe, it would turn out in his favor. Either way, it would be exciting.
Blinking his eyes, Samyaza's irises turned a deep, hazy blue, a small glow to them. "Maybe a little both. " Blinking once more, not before winking of course, his eyes were back to normal. " I've never tried the business end of my 'profession'," that being a demon, " I could give it a try sometime. Though, something tells me you don't really have a soul to put anything against." Samyaza tapped his fingers against the table. Jumping to conclusions so quickly was not his usual route, but he had a feeling that he simply couldn't shake. If this turned sour, Samyaza would take the girl somewhere a little more private and quench his curiosity through any means necessary.[/blockquote]

when the devil wants to dance with you ,YOU BETTER SAY NEVER because a dance with the devil might last you forever - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Giving a soft nod at the coloring, she hid very effectively the fact that she had never seen eyes glow that color before, but the words were close enough, he knew she had no soul, which was true enough, and he wasn’t mundane by any stretch of the imagination. She moved back in the bench a moment, looking him over, one side of her mouth curling up in a smirk as she considered. Yes she could blink her eyes black, the sort of calling card to this man, a quid pro quo, but why should she give away anything she didn’t have to, like for example that she was simply a black eyed demon. Just like a shark didn’t like it when a killer whale swam past, the shark wasn’t going to show off its rows of sharp teeth in threat or no threat and Ruby was defiantly the shark in this encounter. Thing is she had to offer something, so she did give him at least that one thing she was willing to, hoping her reputation alone would be something that proceeded her and was intimidating enough. “You can call me Ruby.”Her name sounding more like a threat, an ominous one, coming from her lips, years of practice at it refining her skill. She knew for the most part that demons either hated her for hunting them alongside the Winchesters (which would give demons reason to pause, given that she might be resuming her former ways) or those who were in the know thinking she served demons loyal to Lucifer, who, even though defeated in Sam’s sacrifice, were not to be counted out just yet. Either way she wasn’t going to admit she was all on her own in this world, no on to call on for help, weakness to another demon was like blood in the water to a shark.
