Lucie needed to get out of this hospital. She hated them; they were just too depressing for her. And the fact that her mother was now in one just made her hate them even more. She wasn’t going to just leave her here, though, she would stay as long as she needed too. Up until the moment she were to pass, Lucie wasn’t going to leave the hospital premises, as much as she wanted too. It pained her to even think about what would happen to her mother during her stay here. She knew that most likely her mother would never step foot outside of the hospital, because of how bad her fall was.
She was in Ohio when she had gotten the call about her mother. Cutting one of her investigations of a possible ghoul terrorizing a small town shirt, she traveled back to her hometown of Pittsburg, where her mother resided. Apparently, she had taken a nasty spill down the stairs, resulting in her going into a coma. It was hard to just look at her mother, lying in the hospital bed, unmoving, seemingly dead. Lucie was rather broken up about it, as well. It was hard seeing the person that she cared most about so helpless, and the fact that she could do nothing to help her just made it even harder.
She looked around at all of the other coma patients, grimacing at how they all looked practically the same. Lucie had been sitting in the same chair for a day and a half now, leaving only to go to the hospital lunchroom, or to use the bathroom. She stood up for the first time in a couple of hours, wobbling slightly until she caught her balance. Lucie needed a change of scenery, or at least, she needed some time to herself. Not that she didn’t feel particularly alone, sitting in a room full of coma patients; she just needed to be by herself for a bit.
The chair she was sitting in made a screeching noise as she stood up, as she looked around at the room. It wasn’t like it had any affect on the patients, but she still checked to see if any of them had moved in response to it. Lucie cleared her throat as she made her way out the doors of the coma ward, as she headed down one of the eerily white hallways of the hospital. She took the quickest route she could to get out of the hospital, letting out a small-exasperated breath as she finally reached the exit doors.
Lucie rubbed her eyes, they were still irritated due to the fact that she had been crying earlier that day. She took a seat on a nearby bench, leaning back and closing her eyes, taking in the sounds around. Lucie sat and thought about how she didn’t trust the doctors that were taking care of her mother. How she was sure that her mother would never wake up from her coma. It was a depressing thought, but a realistic one. He wished that there was something she could do to save her, but she knew that there wasn’t. Lucie just didn’t know what she would do without her mother, or how unstable she would most likely become.
She let out a sigh as she buried her face in her hands, coming to terms with her feelings of being even more helpless than her mother at the moment.
